I've been wanting to organize a bdsm/kink-specific self-knowledge group for a while. Walking in a park in Berlin, I spontaneously came up with the idea of Kinky Circle in nature. Within a few days, I set out a near date and posted the event.

I gave myself the challenge to treat a group session like a 1on1 session: co-creating, going with the flow (instead of a pre-set structure like in a workshop), holding space for whatever arises in the here & now, trusting the process.

As this was an experiment for me as well, a first pilot edition, and I wanted to take the pressure off, I offered it as pay-what-you-want.

Despite barely enough time to advertise (it was posted about 10 days prior to event date), weather wobbles, uncertainty regarding participant numbers, even waking up with a migraine… it happened.

6 people, 1 field -- we met in the park, dropped into our bodies with somatic arrival games: walking, sensing, breath... & from there, it unfolded like an intimate, kinky encounter group:

The themes that arose in our circle:

🔥 Sovereign sexuality & self-pleasure (not =masturbation)

🧭 The "Maslow pyramid" of sex

⚖️ D/s dynamics, certain practices, and their individual meanings

👑 Becoming a Master of states

🚫 Boundaries & responsibilities, both as protection and invitation

💬 The art of being seen, without masks / performance

The vibe?

Facilitated but not led. Co-created. Held, yet open. A bit chaotic, but deeply real. "Peaceful" (according to a participant:).

Someone wished for more structure, others found value in speaking freely, sharing about themselves, and learning along the way. A question of taste. :) *

Someone left, and came back just to give their offering. Small yet meaningful gestures.

We made a space that was honest, unusual, alive.

* I found this a valuable feedback, thought on it, and it is possible to accommodate both via having both structured and free-flow parts. Although, there's also value in learning to be with the unstructured. How do you fill space -- and when you aren't instructed?

Kinky Circle is meant to be an adult playground, where we are comfy & safe to explore & express & co-create freely. We'll be experimenting with multiple formats. Sandbox mode ;)
